Builds you could play as a beginner are:
IWAY:
4 W/R:
take tigers fury and an axe, also take a pet whit you and a skill like either: Sprint(for relics or stuff), eoe, or predatory season.
1 R/Mo:
he is a trapper, remember to take a staff instead of a bow because of the energy. Also he should take Martyr and purge conditions to remove conditions from the team. The spirit he has to take is natur ritual
1 R/Me:
Just a regular resolve trapper, whit spike trap and other traps and mantra of resolve so they cant interupt your traps. He should also take nature ritual.
1 N/E:
He is the tainted necro. So he needs Tainted flesh, putrid explosion, well of profane, Meteor shower, gale and windbourn speed, and glyph of sacrifice. (you can also put consume corps or death nova in it)
1 N/Mo:
He is basicly the healer of the party. He should take, Heal party, heal other, healing seed, healing breeze. Also he needs order of pain and i prefer Offering of Blood.

If you want to play balanced I would recommend:

1 W/E:
take an axe, and shock. Also dont forget sprint. He should attack different targets in the opponents team. Swap target once in a while. Also call if somebody is almost dead or whatever other reason.

1 E/Me:
he is the warder. The skills he needs are:
Earth attunement, obsidian flame, earthquake, aftershock, ward against melee, ward against foes, glyph of energy, rez sig.
Put up wards to defend your team, and do damage whit earthquake aftershock and obs flame

1 N/Me:
he should bring some curses like:
Spitefull spirit and cover it whit parasetic bond. You can also take Faintheardedness, suffering, enfeeble. Scatter around hexes, this is good against iway, put SS on the W/R.

1 M/E - 1 M/N:
2 mesmers to shut down opponents. The M/E has to take windbourn speed and the M/N should take consume corps, for corps control.
You can either take a e-surge, or migraine mesmer. Surgers just burn up someone energy whit energy surge, mind burn etc. Migraine mesmers put migraine on a foe and cover it whit conjure phantasm for example. Now they can interupt every skill that foes does whit power spike, power leak and other interupts.

3 Mo/Me:
The most common monk backline is:
1 WoH, 1 RC prot, 1 sb/infuse.
the WoH take word of healing and is the healer.
RC prot takes restore condition and protection skill
sb/infuse take spelbreaker and infuse healt to counter spikes. And spelbreaker to put on ghost or to prefent somebody getting spiked.

You can also play spike builds, but that needs some timing and everybody needs ts or vent. I wouldnt recommend start playing HA in spike teams. I also wouldnt recommend minion factory. It's fun to play and all, but it doesnt give you a single win.
EoE bombs need a good coordination of action and participation. It needs pretty much time until it has the effect you want. But if you got a EoE running, you can sure farm some fame whit it. And you dont need any skill for it in 1vs1.

Don't say you are a W/N for example. Only mention your primary profession. Your secondary can be changed anytime needed and have to be changed in different partys. The leader says what you need to be want what he wants you to take. You also need to forget everything about what you learned in PvE. Warrior for example are mostly W/E or W/R.

Your elite should be glyph of energy, not obsidian flesh.

I have two accounts, each with 4 pve characters each. Me and my friend share our two accounts, so... On my main account, the one I started off with I have 71 fame, so I'm almost r2, but on my friends account, he has 2 fame. He has a monk with almost every monk skill, a necro with almost every necro skill, a warrior with almost every necro skill, and a level 7 ele. My other account just has a level 20 warrior and a level 16 monk, a level 2 mes, level whatever ranger. So...right now I can probably play monk necro and warrior builds. Add Aniki Dehitay and Li Fe Ste Al. Ask for lamer if you whisp.

It's nice to see a thread where people are doing something about their rank instead of complaining about the system.

Same prob for me i game sinds my 3th birthday and i know how to play a game ... i learn fast i was in a guild and i spiked for the first time and i just spiked the same like the rest of my party .

Im rank 2 atm and its so hard to get a party thats not iway .

I play ranger all the time so when u ever need a ranger just give me a wisper under the name Dark Humar

I'm glad to see that people are putting efforts into this. Heck, I remember how long it took me to get to r3. I would love to help you guys out if you need it. (although my wireless has been strange lately and is prone to lag sometimes)

My 1st post, though I've been lurking for months. Love these forums and have learned quite a bit from them. Been waiting for this thread for so long, so glad its finally here. I've been playing since Beta but so far only PvE mostly because my Guild is small and no one seems interested in PvP of any kind

I'd love to hook up with a mature Guild that enjoys all types of play.

I have had 7 characters total through the game...all PvE and only really _noticed_ PvP and Halls once I started UW 2 man with my SS because, well, gee... Favor was all the sudden important to me

I'm an older player, so I have plenty of patience. I don't care for Rage Quitters and don't mind losing...though I like to try and figure out why it happened. Of course winning is much more preferred.

I have TS/Vent and Mic so that is not a problem. I have no PvP only Characters, they are all PvE but are all well tooled up. Just through messing around with PUGs on and off I have a few points of Fame, but I'd love to get into an organized group. Tell me what Job I'm supposed to do and it will get done. Here are the Characters that I Currently have available :

Kwaad Of Shred, Necro - Fully unlocked Primary, Fully Unlocked Mesmer secondary and lots of Monk skills, 1.5Mil XP 43 Skill Points available. Has Weapons and Armor sets for MM, Blood Spiking, SS tasks.

ToZ Of Shred, Monk - Fully Unlocked Primary, Fully Unlocked Mesmer Secondary and Lots of Necro skills, 1.3Mil XP 41 Skill Points available. Can 55, have done some Boon'n, mostly a WoH Monk.

ZoT Of Shred, Ranger - 400K XP 22 Skill Points available Mostly used for Tombs Green Runs in B/P Groups and UW Trapping, many Ele 2nd skills, Spider Pet. Would like to develop him farther. Don't play him much, but would like to.

Leer Nadruk, Mesmer - My Newest Char...1 Mo old, love playing him. I think you have to play other classes before you can truly appreciate the Mesmer. Completely unlocked Dom and Illus, 3/4 Unlocked Insp...Only 3 More Elites to get. 300K XP...skill point deficient cause he doesn't have months of Oro and FA runs behind him

Started him in the hopes of using him a lot for PvP and Halls Builds, working tward totally unlocking him quickly.

UW Farming has proven to be very profitable for me and I'm not afraid to spend to improve my Characters potential abilities.

I'm usually playing M-F 5:00-6:00pm (Eastern) on, and Saturday & Sunday whenever I have some free time...sometimes it's an all day event

PvP is a new frontier for me and I'd really like to commit more time and resources to it, but it isn't something that you can do by yourself. So...if your looking for someone reliable to round out your group and one of my characters can fill the void, please pm me in game. Sorry to be a little long winded, congratulations on reading down this far! Don't you have something better to do?

At the least, now you have a complete introduction.

I would like to start PvP a little more... my previous guild did a ton of it, and my present one is just starting to a little.

I have 2 accounts in different guilds so if we are ever short anything, i hope i can pull someone... and possibly use the guild TS server if possible (if someone from guild joins).

A friend on the forum here (charater name:Im thinking) and me tried to do Iway rofl :P.
but we didn't stand long (I was the Tainted necro =P) but we got owned by a balanced build didn't know what we did wrong now we're trying the Migraine build from here on the forums we tried it and did better then the IWAY try =P . Well once we got like 7/8zaishen hench evryone left lol =P we stood up for like 5mins rofl and we killed a few of the opposing enemy.. at least we got some fun =P but no fame
